Ramsey, NJ Residence, Family Room Addition

This project created a much needed family room for a family with growing children  The project put an addition on the back of the home at the basement level and used the roof of the addition to replace the existing first floor deck that occupied that location before.  Along with the addition, the basement was renovated to include a home office, a half bathroom and storage space.  Due to the location of the addition, at the basement level of the home, It was important to the homeowners that this renovation use as much daylight as possible with the use of large windows and that the renovation would be sensitive to the existing house both on the exterior and the interior.  Scale, proportion, style and details of the existing house were used to seamlessly integrate the new addition with the original home.
